A Legacy Rooted

Discover Our Legacy
Elephant Rest Tented Camp sits on the ancient, sun-baked landscape of Sorris-Sorris in Namibia’s Kunene Region. Below Brandberg Mountain — the country’s highest peak — the camp was born from a deep conviction: that extraordinary encounters with the natural world should leave that world better, not worse.
Our founders were drawn here by the desert-adapted elephants that roam these dry riverbeds, navigating terrain that would defeat most wildlife. These are not captive animals, not lured with water or food. They pass through on their own ancient routes, and we simply have the privilege of witnessing it.
Today, Elephant Rest Tented Camp is a small, thoughtfully built camp where accommodation sits lightly on the land, guides are drawn from the local community, and every decision is made with the next generation of travellers — and elephants — in mind.
Why Choose Us
Three Pillars of Elephant Rest
Nature-Inspired Design
Brick, canvas and corrugated iron — materials borrowed from the land. Our accommodation leaves no permanent mark on the landscape.
Personalized Service
Our team are local experts who grew up with this landscape. They know where the elephants drink, where the stars are brightest, and where the silence is loudest.
Enriching Experiences
We believe travel should leave you — and the places you visit — changed for the better. Every excursion is built around genuine connection, not theatre.
